Photography makes me look more closely at the world around me.  Details, textures, colors, and patterns are everywhere. The fleeting nature of light that changes from one moment to the next. The thrill of getting a privileged glimpse of an animal in the wild. The diversity of people, architecture and cultures.

My dad loved photography and was my first teacher. Later, I became "trip historian" taking snaps of people and places I learned how hard it is to capture the essence of a moment or place, the classic "pictures can't do this justice". It is a challenge that inspires me still.
